Programs & Curriculums
The Lighthouse Curriculum
Reading/Writing
- Bible- learning God’s truth during daily devotionals so we can store His truth in our hearts
- Trade (library) Books- enriching our minds by reading about other people, places, and things that our different than our own to humble ourselves and grow in our understanding of the world
- Editing- reading and revising our own writing so that we can better communicate God’s message of love to the world
- God Journals- learning to seek God first in each new day as we improve our basic writing skills
- Creative Writing – practice thinking and writing outside of the box so we can fully embrace the dreams and visions that God puts on each of our hearts
- Research, Articles, Plans, and Proposals- gathering wisdom and then being able to put our ideas and thoughts into reports and written action to share with others
Math/Science
- Basic Concepts and Functions- learning to do math computation quickly and effectively to help us to function easier in this world, then building on these stepping stones to use math in daily life
- Application- taking the basic math concepts we’ve learned into our planning, designing, and producing
Art/Music/Physical Activities
- Using our bodies and minds to explore, move, create, and work together to enjoy the abilities God has given us to help our mind, body, and spirits stay happy and healthy
Science & Social Studies
- Research and Exploration- using books, other resources and our curiosity to learn more about the world around us
- Projects and Experiments- take our curiosity into concrete hands on learning experiences including gardening, designing, exploring and building
